PBBM PLEDGES FULL SUPPORT TO AFP TO FULFILL NEW CHALLENGES

Marcos Jr. on Friday expressed full support to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as it fulfils new challenges in the performance of their duties, especially in their crucial role as the country’s first line of defense against external security threats. “I am certain that our partners will be more than willing to aid us in developing your capabilities and making the necessary investments to ensure that we achieve our shared goals for the country and for this region,” the President told the officers and men of the AFP in Clark Air Base in Pampanga. President Marcos also urged the AFP and the Philippine Air Force (PAF) to remain steadfast in carrying out its sworn duty and to continue developing their capabilities as they regularly conduct maintenance and repair to keep all the military assets and equipment in good condition. P10-K AID TO SAUDI CLAIMANTS RELEASED

Dateline Kamuning:    Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople and Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) providing P10,000 as financial aid for each worker seeking unpaid wages from several Saudi construction companies that declared bankruptcy from 2015 to 2019.   The financial aid is a joint undertaking between the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and its attached agency, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).     "We will release the humanitarian assistance within the next two weeks with DMW-OWWA leading the distribution efforts," Secretary Ople said.   She added that the DMW will also engage DSWD in talks on how both departments can assist OFW children left under the guardianship of next of kin or household members other than the actual parents in light of the recent tragedy befalling OFW Virginia dela Pena’s children.   "Early on, the President dire
