MARCOS JR. ADMIN ALLOTS P1.89B BUDGET FOR NEA ELECTRIFICATION PROGRAMS

 Dateline Kamuning: The Marcos Jr. administration is lighting up more than a thousand communities nationwide, which is included in the National Electrification Administration (NEA)'s P1.89 billion budget for 2023. NEA is an attached agency of the Department of Energy (DOE). NEA's budget, appropriated under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA), will fund the agency's programs, including the Barangay/Sitio Electrification Project, Electric Cooperatives Emergency and Resiliency, and Installation of Solar Panels in Public Buildings. "When we say we want to uplift the lives of the Filipino people, we mean all Filipinos, even those in the farthest barangays or sitios. And we cannot achieve socio-economic improvement in these areas if their communities remain unelectrified. DBM ALLOTS OVER P1.4 BILLION FOR EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS TO PREPARE FILIPINO YOUTH JOB SEEKERS

  Dateline Kamuning: Strategic programs of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) that will help provide jobs to Filipino youth have been allocated P1.401 billion for 2023.  These include the Government Internship Program, Special Program for Employment of Students, and Job Search Assistance. “In our goal of attaining progress and prosperity, we believe that having a healthy, productive, and equipped workforce will play a great role. That’s why President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed us to give prime importance in investing in our labor workforce, especially the youth,” said Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman. Under the 2023 national budget, DOLE’s Government Internship Program has been allotted P708 million. The program consists of three to six-month internship opportunities for high school, technical-vocational, and college graduates who want to work in the government.
