GOV’T CONSIDERING ALL NEW TECHNOLOGIES TO ENSURE ENERGY SECURITY, IMPROVE ENERGY MIX

Dateline Kamuning: The government is considering all technologies to ensure energy security and improve energy mix for renewables, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said on Friday as he visited a wind farm project in Ilocos Norte. “At lahat nitong bagong teknolohiya ay talagang titingnan natin. U.S.-PHILIPPINE FORCES SINK TARGET SHIP FOR FIRST TIME IN BALIKATAN EXERCISE

Kamuning Dateline:   A combined force of U.S. and Philippine service members participated in a combined joint littoral live-fire exercise today, the culminating field training event for Balikatan 2023. Approximately 1,400 Marines, soldiers, sailors, airmen and Coast Guardsmen from both countries took part in the training, which involved detecting, identifying, targeting and engaging a target ship using a variety of ground and air-based weapons systems. “This training increased the exercise’s realism and complexity, a key priority shared between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military,” said Lt. Gen. Dateline Kamuning: An internal review being conducted in the Philippine National Police (PNP) aimed at determining cops with drug links will conclude in two weeks or so, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said on Tuesday, as he vowed to relentlessly fight the proliferation of illicit narcotics in the country. “Kaya naman ating ginawa ‘yung review, mga official sa police at dahan-dahan… malapit nang matapos. PALACE: 4 ADDITIONAL EDCA SITES TO BOOST PH HUMANITARIAN, RELIEF OPERATIONS IN DISASTERS

  Dateline Kamuning:   Malacanang announced Monday four locations considered “suitable and mutually beneficial” as additional Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) sites that are seen to boost the disaster response of the country as the locations will also be used for humanitarian and relief operations during emergencies and natural disasters. According to the Palace, the four locations inspected and assessed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) include the Naval Base Camilo Osias in Sta Ana, Cagayan; Lal-lo Airport in Lal-lo, Cagayan; Camp Melchor Dela Cruz in Gamu, Isabela and Balabac Island in Palawan.     During an Army event last month, President Marcos said Filipino and American officials had already identified and agreed on the four new sites and would soon make a formal announcement soon.
