DOH, DOLE, CSC PARTNER TO INSTITUTIONALIZE HEALTHY WORKPLACE CONDITIONS

Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, and Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Alexei Nograles, led the signing of the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) on Healthy Workplace settings today in Quezon City.  

 

 

This initiative has been made possible because of the unrelenting work of the DOH Health Promotion Bureau (HPB) led by Assistant Secretary Dr. Lorraine Beverly Ho, Director Rodley Dezmond Carza, and the entire team of the HPB.

The ceremonial signing aimed to enliven and encourage employers, both in public and private work sectors, to create supportive environments where employees feel valued, respected, and motivated to perform at their best at all times.

Ilang buwan ang nakararaan naaresto ng Manila Police District ang tatlong Pakistani national na nagbebenta ng ‘counterfeit’ o pekeng gamot. Ilang concerned citizen kasi ang dumulog sa MPD dahil ang tatlong dayuhan ay nagbebenta ng mga ‘branded’ na gamot sa murang halaga. Ayon sa MPD, ang mga ‘branded’ na pekeng gamot ay ‘naproxen sodium, paracetamol, dextromethorphan at phenylephrine.’

PBBM TO GOV’T AGENCIES: IMPLEMENT WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES

In light of the looming El Niño phenomenon or the long dry spell, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed all government agencies to strictly implement water conservation measures. In  Memorandum Circular No. 22 , dated 7 June 2023 and signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, the President orders the Water Resource Management Office (WRMO) and its network of agencies to take the lead in implementing water conservation measures to avert a possible water crisis amid the dry spell in the next months. The chief executive also directed all government agencies, including government-owned or -controlled corporations and state universities and colleges, to “identify and implement specific quantifiable and attainable water conservation measures that will result in ten percent (10%) water volume reduction of their respective first quarter (January to March 2023) water consumption.” The President also ordered the Local Water Utilities Administration, National Water Resources Board, an
