BJMP SUPPORTS ABALOS ‘WAR ON DRUGS’ CAMPAIGN

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) fully supports the ‘war on drugs’ campaign of the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) Benjamin Abalos Jr.

“Tuloy-tuloy ang kampanya ng BJMP laban sa illegal na droga,” BJMP chief Jail Director Iral said.

The Jail Bureau maintains close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Philippine National Police, local government units, and anti-drug advocates in its campaign against drugs.


 


Aside from the regular and joint greyhound operations in jail units, the Jail Bureau also conducts regular and random drug testing of personnel and persons deprived of liberty (PDL) in all its 478 BJMP-manned facilities nationwide.

Iral also stressed that massive greyhound operations were continuously conducted in all district, city, and municipal jails nationwide as part of the BJMP’s intensified crackdown operation on illegal drugs and contraband in jails.

Moreover, the BJMP chief urged all personnel to take their duty seriously and continue on ensuring a drug-free facility.

Jail Director Iral also assured that the BJMP will remain firm and uncompromising when it comes to its internal cleansing program.

PBBM TO GOV’T AGENCIES: IMPLEMENT WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES

In light of the looming El Niño phenomenon or the long dry spell, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed all government agencies to strictly implement water conservation measures. In  Memorandum Circular No. 22 , dated 7 June 2023 and signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, the President orders the Water Resource Management Office (WRMO) and its network of agencies to take the lead in implementing water conservation measures to avert a possible water crisis amid the dry spell in the next months.
